Cari Cole is the founder
and director of Cari
Cole Voice Studios. She
has been teaching voice
since 1986 in New York
City. Her teaching
methods are derived from
the Bel Canto system
combined with a myriad
of methodologies from
Alexander to Linklater
and presented to the
contemporary vocalist.
Her methodology is
regarded as a
groundbreaking system
for developing and
advancing professional
and aspiring vocalists.
Cari Cole began her
musical studies at the
age of six and began
performing at the age of
seven. She studied
classical guitar, flute
and voice absorbing the
knowledge of such
impeccable training, but
her love for
contemporary music
pushed her into her
search for the
adaptation of vocal
technique to the
contemporary singer. Her
desire to master the art
of contemporary singing
led her to an
apprenticeship with the
world-renowned teacher
of many famous rock and
pop singers, Katherine
Agresta. It was there
that Cole studied voice
intensively over ten
years. She deepened and
advanced her own vocal
studies and began her
journey as a teacher
leading to the
formulation of her own
methodology called The
Cole Technique.
The Cole Technique
applies the work of
Feldenkrais, Linklater,
Alexander, Wilhelm
Reich, Alexander Lowen,
Vinyasa yoga and
diaphragmatic breathing
methods to operatic Bel
Canto and the teachings
of Richard Miller and
the late Edward Dwyer,
as well as contemporary
vocal masters such as
Riggs, and Agresta.
Assisting The Cole
Technique is the
unprecedented bodywork
of craniosacral therapy
and rolfing, releasing
tensions deep within the
muscles of the jaw,
tongue, larynx and
diaphragm areas creating
a freer, unrestricted
voice.
Cari Cole Voice Studios
also works exclusively
with Dr. Scott Kessler,
Manhattan’s most revered
voice doctor to the
stars, such as Sting,
Pink, Bocelli,
Springsteen, Nancy
Wilson, Jesse Norman,
and Madonna among many,
many others.
At Cari Cole Voice
Studios, Master Teacher
Cari Cole and her
Associate Teachers teach
The Cole Technique. Cari
Cole specializes in
private vocal technique
and health, contemporary
